Chad Johnson Pleads Not Guilty to Battery
Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson has pleaded not guilty to the charge of battery stemming from his alleged attack on Evelyn Lozada. He was formally charged yesterday.
Ocho entered a "not guilty" plea in court this morning.
The former NFL star allegedly head-butted his wife of less than six weeks after she found a condom receipt in Chad's car and a nuclear argument broke out.
If convicted, Johnson faces up to a year in jail.
Evelyn has since filed for divorce (though he refuses to sign the papers and just got a new tattoo of Evelyn's face), Chad has been dumped by the Miami Dolphins and both have been released by VH1, which was going to air a reality show about them.
When it rains, it pours.
Gay Football Player Kicked Off College Team For Kissing Older Man?
Jamie Kuntz says a kiss from his much-older boyfriend at his first game led the freshman linebacker to be released from his college football team.
North Dakota State College of Sciences in Wahpeton acknowledges Kuntz was disciplined by the team, but says it wasn't because he is homosexual.
Football coach Chuck Parsons denies kicking the gay football player off the team because he's gay, but says it was for lying to him about the kiss.
In any case, Kuntz, 18, and on a partial football scholarship, left the college in southeast North Dakota this month after his dismissal from the team.
"Football didn't work out, so there was no reason to stay," said Kuntz.
Kuntz said that he and his 65-year-old boyfriend were in the press box at the game against Snow College in Pueblo, Colo., over Labor Day weekend.
Sidelined by a minor concussion, he was videotaping the game for the team. His Wildcats were down by 40+ points when "the kiss just happened."
The team would eventually lose 63-17.
"People around here aren't exposed to it," Kuntz said of the fact that he is a gay man. "People expect gays to be flamboyant, not football players."
A teammate apparently saw the kiss and told coaches, Kuntz said, and Parsons confronted him; Kuntz told him the man was his grandfather.
Demi Lovato Slams Kate Middleton Pregnancy Rumor
New X Factor judge Demi Lovato isn't simply critiquing hopeful singers these days. She's going after supermarket tabloids as well.
Hard.
In the wake of the 197th Kate Middleton pregnant lie report, Lovato has taken to Twitter and slammed Star Magazine for its irresponsible photo use.
"So apparently Kate Middleton (William?) is pregnant because of THIS picture...Are you KIDDING ME?!!" Demi Tweeted yesterday, linking to a cropped photo of the cover below, which includes an arrow on Middleton's svelte stomach and the words: "Expanding Waistline."
Lovato, of course, has been outspoken about self-esteem issues ever since she entered rehab in late 2010 for cutting, depression and an eating disorder, among other problems.
"And people wonder why girls/guys have body image issues," Lovato added. "Whether she is or not, she still has a beautiful body. Shame on you Star magazine."
Whether or not you give Lovato points as an X Factor judge - and THG was actually a big fan - you've gotta give the young star nothing but props for speaking out in this case. Way to go, Demi!
The Voice vs. The X Factor: Which Show is Better?
The Voice vs. The X Factor. Christina vs. Britney.
TV's infatuation with singing competition shows reached its pinnacle last night, with NBC's Voice airing its third episode of the week in what was widely interpreted as a deliberate maneuver to blunt X Factor's season premiere on Fox. To a point, it worked.
Both programs averaged similar ratings (3.3) in the key 18-49 demographic, but The Voice outdrew The X Factor overall, 10.7 million viewers to 7.5 million.
The Voice did lose 17 percent of its audience from its Tuesday show and even more from its Season 3 premiere Monday night, while X Factor is back on tonight.
A few more auditions like Jillian Jensen or Jannel Garcia and Simon Cowell's much-hyped, revamped project could be back with a vengeance ... but stay tuned.
Ratings aside, there's certainly been some tension, even gamesmanship between the two shows, with Cowell calling out The Voice on more than one occasion.

Despite what others may think or say all over the Internet, Miley Cyrus loves her new hair.
She also loves fiancee Liam Hemsworth, a fact the singer expressed to People at last week's MTV Video Music Awards.
Happy to finally talk about anything aside from her revamped look, Cyrus gushed over the Australian actor - but also said there are no immediate plans to walk down the aisle.
She's a busy young woman.
“I’ve got so much planning to do with the tours and getting the record out,” Miley said. “I mean, I’m really excited to obviously get married, but I kind of already feel married, and I know we’re forever. I don’t really need the paper right now, so I’m just really trying to work.”

Pink Slime Producer Sues ABC For $1.2 BILLION
A major beef processing company is suing ABC News for $1.2 billion over its coverage of "pink slime", which the company says ABC portrayed as unhealthy and unsafe.
Beef Products Inc. says ABC made 200 "false and misleading and defamatory" statements about the product, which the producer says is just lean, finely textured beef.
Here's one component of ABC News' pink slime expose:
The network quotes a former USDA scientist saying 70 percent of ground beef contains "trimmings that were once used only in dog food and cooking oil, now sprayed with ammonia to make them safe and then added to most beef as a cheaper filler."
An attorney for BPI said the company filed because "[ABC reports] caused consumers to believe that our lean beef is not beef at all, that it's an unhealthy pink slime, unsafe for public consumption, and somehow it got hidden in the meat."
The company claims the product, abbreviated as LFTB, is heated and treated to kill bacteria, and that it's actually healthier for you, by virtue of being leaner.
As for where the $1.2 billion figure came from, BPI says the reports have hurt sales so much that three out of its four plants have closed and 650 jobs have been lost.
One of the biggest purchasers of U.S. beef, McDonalds cut pink slime from its burgers early this year. TV chef Jamie Oliver has also been a public, vocal opponent.
ABC says the lawsuit is baseless and will be contested.

Michael Madsen Arrested for DUI, Hospitalized
You may not believe this, but Michael Madsen ran afoul of the law last night.
The troubled actor, who was booked in March for allegedly getting into an altercation with his son, was arrested this time on on suspicion of drunken driving after motorists saw his vehicle swerving on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu and called 911.
In a field sobriety test, the actor came back with a blood alcohol level of .21, more than twice the legal limit of .08, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore.
In an unusual twist, Madsen complained of an undisclosed medical problem during his booking and spent the night at the hospital after deputies cited him for drunk driving and released him.
On the professional front, the star plays a role on the Hawaii Five-0 Season 3 premiere. It airs September 24.
Justin Bieber Wants to Prove People Wrong
Justin Bieber was recently offered a minor league hockey contract, but the superstar is likely gonna stick to this singing thing, thank you very much.
In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on The Today Show this morning, Bieber talked about his career to date and where he hopes it will go in the near future. Are you listening, haters?
"I don't wanna be another teen heartthrob because that just annoys me... to think that's what people will think of me," said the 18-year old. "I just want to prove people wrong."
That's been Bieber's motivation on his new album, which includes such mature fare as "Boyfriend" and "As Long as You Love Me." He's excited about the feedback he's received so far.
"I think hearing older people say, 'Wow, this new album's great, I didn't know that was Justin Bieber,' or 'As Long as You Love Me', that's Justin Bieber singing?' I like those reactions because I feel like they're judging me on my music and not based on a flick of my hair because that's not what I want."
What DOES Bieber want? He made it very clear: "I haven't won a Grammy," he told Seacrest.
Think it'll never happen, critics? Come on. Hasn't Justin taught you anything about saying that word.
William, Kate Rumors Persist: Middleton "Definitely" Pregnant, According to Unnamed Palace Source
Kate Middleton sparked a renewed bout of speculation that she may be pregnant this week, and now an unnamed palace source is adding fuel to the fire.
During a state banquet in Singapore, the future queen TWICE made toasts to the current Queen by drinking water instead of wine - unusual for toasts.
This, obviously, set off pregnancy rumors, coupled with reports from the royal circle (allegedly) that Kate is "definitely" pregnant at this point in time.
One source has said that yes, Kate Middleton is pregnant, but that William and Kate were planning to hold off announcing a pregnancy for "as long as possible."
That may mean more than a few months, as she's probably not pregnant. All the girl did was refuse wine, and all William did was say he wants two kids.
Someday.
Kate is said to find the constant attention on her pregnancy status and whether or not she's too thin unsettling, but accepts it as part of the territory.
At least she's not under any pressure to produce a male heir. A change in the laws of succession means her first-born will be the heir(ess), regardless of gender.
