Gerard Butler Talks About His Near Death Surfing Experience,Gerard Butler has a new movie coming out called “Chasing Mavericks”. It will actually be in theaters on October 26th. Reportedly, the movie is about a boy who’s adventurous, his surfing teacher and a huge wave. Gerard says that the movie wasn’t the safest to film, for him.

In a new interview with “ABC News”, he said, “That’s crazy!” while he watched a brief clip of a surfing accident that occurred amidst a really big wave. He said, “Even when I see that it brings back memories. I was down and I just didn’t come back up, really, I was down for that wave and I was done for a long time. I started to think, ‘Wow, I’m going to die making a movie.’”

It doesn’t sound like this particular incident has made him want to stay away from surfing forever, but perhaps he should just steer clear of any gigantic waves? Inthe movie, Gerard stars as Frosty Hesson.
