AK Hangal passes away at 98

Family members say that the 98-year-old’s lungs had become weak due to his old age and he was also dealing with hip fracture. AK Hangal had been in the ICU at the Asha Parekh Hospital for some days. The 98-year-old actor had been suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis, chronic kidney diseases and hypertension, and was soon going to be operated upon, but the treatment had to be put on hold because of his deteriorating health conditions. Hangal’s family was constantly by his side during his last days.
“He died following lung and kidney failure after he suffered a hip fracture,” the actor’s physician Koulsoum Hossein said. “My father was a spirited man….He kept fighting every time till his last breath,” Vijay, Hangal’s son told IANS. May his soul rest in peace
