Becoming a great blogger takes a little bit of out of the box
thinking. Ideas and topics might seem easy at first but if you plan on
writing consistently over time, eventually you might get a little bit of
writers block. Ideas for blog post writing topics are all around us, we
just have to know how to leverage some of the ideas to create new
content for your own blog.
Here are some great blogging ideas that I came up with:
Lots of Reading: You should have a collection of
other industry related blogs that you are reading on a weekly basis in
order to not only fine tune your skills but to see the different styles
that other bloggers are using to help build their blogs. I’m not saying
that you should copy anyone but getting other ideas is an important part
of growing your business.
Follow The News: Most industries have some sort of
news related sources that they can turn to in order to keep track of
everything that is going on in their industry. News sources that first
make their way onto the scene can often times bring heaping amounts of
new traffic in but you have to be one of the first to report on a
specific event or topic.
Ask For Interviews: A CEO interview can bring in
nice content to your blog, especially if it is an industry where they
are very talkative. Reach out to some of the industry leaders in your
space and see if you can get an interview from any high ranking official
within an organization.
Think Ahead: Are there trends and topics that you
anticipate occurring in your industry far in advance? I’m not saying
that they will happen, but try writing about them in case they do. If
things start to lean in that direction your blog posts could be
positioned nicely for some inbound links.
Speak Your Mind: Don’t not write something because
you think that it might upset your audience. The whole point of a blog
is for you to have a voice in your industry. If someone doesn’t like
your voice they can simply choose not to read your blog.
Blog post writing ideas are all around us, you just have to take the
time to notice the signs. This list above is really just scratching the
surface but if you want to really make an impact in your blogging space
try really digging around you to find some new topics. The tools and
data are there.
