Convert Your Online Reading List into MP3s with SoundGecko for Easy On-the-Go Listening
Most of us have what seems to be a never-ending list of articles that we want to read... someday. A new web app called SoundGecko
can help you get started on that list by converting your articles with
text-to-speech technology so you can listen to them instead.
There are a few ways you can go about it. If you don't want to create an account, just go to SoundGecko's website, enter the article URL and your email address, click "Get MP3," and they'll send you the audio file.
Even quicker, you can add go@soundgecko.com to your contact list, email your article URLs to that address, and they'll appear in your inbox by the end of the day.
If
you register for a SoundGecko account, you can link it to your Dropbox
or Google Drive account for automatic syncing. There's also an iPhone app and a Chrome extension so you can add an item to your list with one click.
SoundGecko
is currently free for unlimited use, so if your reading list is longer
than your lunch break, try it out and see how much you can get done
while you "read" the news.
